Chef Andrey Durbach will be at BC Seafood Expo

Chef Andrey Durbach creates authentic Italian dishes made with Comox-Valley-grown ingredients, a veritable marriage made in heaven can be enjoyed at Il Falcone Restaurant.

The 13th annual BC Seafood Festival is once again being held in the Comox Valley from June 7-16th, 2019. This year’s Expo chef line-up offers a wide range of talents from around the Comox valley.

Chef Andrey Durbach, Il Falcone Restaurant in Courtenay, British Columbia, trained at The Culinary Institute of America, New York. Ever since, for more than 20 years, he has been operating some of Vancouver’s best-loved neighbourhood restaurants. Etoile, Parkside, La Buca, Pied-a-Terre and The Sardine Can to name a few.

While leading the kitchen of Vancouver’s Bishops Restaurant in the fall of 2016, Durbach and his wife, Sian, fell in love with a charming yellow house with an adjacent orchard-garden in downtown Courtenay, BC.

With their love of food, wine and the restaurant culture, they were delighted to move to the Comox Valley. It was in this charming yellow house that Il Falcone was born.

Il Falcone is inspired by a joyful Italian approach to cuisine, and the superb ingredients of the Comox Valley.

Chef Andrey Durbach prepares his classic regional Italian dishes made with Comox Valley’s local ingredients. The pastas are made by hand, the sauces are simmered for hours, the food is prepared with true passion for the industry. The chef loves to prepare new and exciting dishes which can be found on his nightly features, and all can be paired with an extensive list of Italian wines that complements the menus.

Located midway on the east coast of Vancouver Island, the Comox Valley is well known for its culinary bounty from the farms and sea to table. Rich with festivals and sporting events, stunning alpine to ocean resorts and spas, this region is a place of super natural beauty that offers lush culinary, cultural and outdoor experiences. It is comprised of the communities of Comox, Courtenay and surrounding rural areas in the Comox Valley Regional District.
