The BC Seafood Expo International Buyers Reception, which is sponsored by Flying Fresh Air Freight, will feature an array of Canadian seafood prepared by BC chefs.
If you come across Canadian seafood in some remote corner of the world during your travels, chances are Brendan Harnett (pictured) got it there.
“Demand for Canadian seafood both wild and farmed is growing every year,” said Harnett the founder and CEO of the BC-based Flying Fresh Air Freight Cargo.
A recognized global leader in the transportation of perishable cargo, Harnett will be dishing out seafood delicacies that he distributes around the world at the upcoming BC Seafood Expo next week.
Flying Fresh Air Freight is a major backer of the expo which will feature over 50 exhibitors, leading speakers in their fields and provides a venue to network with industry leaders, international buyers, distributors, and educators for every type of fish, seafood, and seafood related products and services.
The BC Seafood Expo International Buyers Reception on June 11, which is sponsored by Flying Fresh Air Freight, will feature an array of Canadian seafood prepared by chefs from across British Columbia.
Harnett’s company was recently ranked number one in Canada in terms of tonnage moved, by the International Air Transportation Association.
“Close to 70 percent of our business involves seafood,” said Harnett, Canada’s unofficial seafood ambassador, whose company grew from a one-man operation to be the number 1 perishable freight forwarder in Canada today.
Translated that is about 16 million kilos of farmed salmon, wild fish, lobster, geoduck, halibut and oysters.
“Our seafood is highly valued in Asia, especially China because it is considered safe…the demand is growing every year especially in new second-tier cities across China,” said Harnett.
