Executive Chef Richard Benson will be at BC Seafood Expo

The 13th annual BC Seafood Festival is once again being held in the Comox Valley from June 7-16th, 2019. This year’s Expo chef line-up offers a wide range of talents from around the Comox valley.

Chef Richard Benson’s culinary journey has always brought him to beautiful resort destinations. From the King Pacific Lodge in Bella Bella to the Chateau Victoria Hotel, and adventurous helicopter skiing with Canadian Mountain Holidays, Chef Benson has showcased his ability to pair the perfect holiday with the perfect plate.

Today, Benson is the executive chef of the Kingfisher Oceanside Resort & Spa. A Red Seal Chef with over 20 years’ experience, he was the recipient of the Grand Marnier Dessert Challenge People’s Choice Award, Condé Nast Gold Traveler Award and the Hotelympia Le Salon Culinaire International De Londres.

Chef Benson brings his passion for seasonally fresh Vancouver Island ingredients to Ocean7 Restaurant and AQUA Bistro & Wine Bar. He creates a modern, approachable menu that showcases magnificent Oceanwise seafood with his dedicated farm to table ethic.

The new AQUA Bistro & Wine Bar features creative casual plates paired with fine wines and signature cocktails. Spectacular panoramic waterscape views welcome you as you enter the main entrance. Design elements make use of French provincial flair and modern West Coast accents featuring beautiful wine displays, soft woods, stone and antique tile finishes. Centralized in the AQUA Bistro & Wine Bar is an inviting New York style bar where you can enjoy the breath-taking views of the ocean, and the lush Kingfisher gardens.

Ocean7 Restaurant focuses on West Coast seafood, grain fed meats and fresh organic produce from local sustainable growers and suppliers. The culinary experience is unparalleled with unique creations from Chef Richard Benson. Your senses will be awakened enjoying tantalizing food for the palate while gazing out to the panoramic ocean views of Comox, Sunshine Coast, Tree Island, wild life and passing boats and planes.
