We are recruiting for Assistant Farm Managers to join the Saltwater team at Mowi Canada East Inc. on our remote farm sites in the Bay’s West area on the South Coast of NL. ABOUT THE JOBReporting to the Farm Manager, this role is a crucial part of our operations process and ensures the best management of our salmon in a sustainable and efficient way. In this role you will strive for continuous growth and assist with all aspects of farm site work to keep the team on track and performing well.

Your main job duties will include assist with the safe and successful operation of your farm, acting in absence of the Farm Site Manager, help manage the site team, promote a safe and positive work environment, lead on feeding, control, and inspection of the fish, maintain reliable data records and all general farm tasks.

This is a permanent, full-time position and offers on site living accommodations with a shift schedule of two weeks on, two weeks off. Both internal and external candidates are encouraged to apply.

They would have:
Relevant post-secondary education and/or equivalent experience within the industry

Farm Manager – Isle of Muck, Small Isles, Scotland

We have an exciting opportunity for a Farm Manager to join and lead the team at our exposed seawater site on the Isle of Muck in the Small Isles.

Muck is one of the company’s larger seawater sites with a MSB of 3500T and 12 x 120m pens. The site has also recently been granted an increase in biomass to 4069T and consent for 8x160m pens, with future development and investment at Muck planned for the coming years.

This post is offered on a full time, permanent basis. The preferred candidate will work a 40hr week, any 5 days out of 7, and live permanently on the island. Furnished, private accommodation comprising of a spacious 3 bedroom house with a large garden is available for the successful candidate.

Muck is home to a vibrant and welcoming community and has an excellent nursery and primary school, making this an equally great opportunity for an individual, couple or family to relocate to the island.

The farm manager role is a crucial part of the operations process and business, and ensures that the best management of our salmon is undertaken. We need our managers to strive for continuous improvement and deliver on all aspects of farm work to keep the team on track and performing well.

The job includes, but is not limited to:
Accountability for the safe and successful operation of your farm
Effectively manage a production team
Responsible for all aspects of farm operations
Maintaining the highest standards in fish husbandry and welfare
Leading on feeding, control and inspection of fish

The ideal candidate will already be an experienced farm manager, or an assistant manager looking to further their career. They will be willing to expand their understanding and work hard on the job.

Previous salmon farming experience is essential
People management experience
Extensive fish husbandry, biology and welfare experience
Strong organisation and logistical skills
Flexible approach to working to meet the demands of the job
A positive attitude and willingness to learn

High degree of computer literacy

Your duties:
Creating, designing and developing the sushi product offer,
Creating new sushi products and modifying the existing ones,
Developing product specification and technological instruction,
Performing product validation and verification,
Tracking and anticipating market trends and proposing new trend-based product applications,
Verifying risks and calculating costs of new products,
Creating technology instructions for specifications and series production,
